What happens if I move my phone lines to a local provider?

The gorgeous Pembrokeshire coastline
These days, it seems everyone is jumping on the 'buy local' train. From groceries to milk deliveries, the revolution of the local family business is well underway. But how does this extend to telecoms?

We're often compared with the large national telecoms companies such as BT and TalkTalk, with people wondering why they should choose us over one of the national beasts. Are our services as fast and reliable as theirs? Can we react as quickly when things go wrong? What happens if there's a problem with a bill?

In telecoms, the reality is that 'you get what you pay for'. If you opt for an off-the-shelf service at the lowest possible price with a huge multinational corporation, how highly do you think they're going to value your custom? Will they welcome you with open arms, moving mountains to make you happy and going above and beyond at any cost - or will they keep you holding for 45 minutes listening to greensleeves, before connecting you to an offshore call centre to go through the same call script you went through last time?

A local telecoms company can offer you a truly refreshing take on your business communications. Ultimately, phone lines and broadband are much of a muchness (aside from a few key points such as service level and contention ratios - we have some of the best in the industry) but it's the service you receive on top which really sets providers aside from one another. Imagine how different it could be if your phone and broadband provider:

  1. Picked up the phone every time it rings and put you straight through to a human with no need to navigate complicated menus
  2. Gave you a single point of contact - your Account Manager - to handle any kind of issue
  3. Actually came and spent money in your business and spread the word about you to other clients
  4. Could often reduce the rates you're paying with the national companies as well!

Needless to say - we're talking about ourselves. We work with our customers to find the best telecoms solution for them, leaving no stone unturned and taking a great deal of care in making sure that things are running smoothly. We know how frustrating it can be when things don't work properly which is why we place such an emphasis on proactive rather than reactive support - monitoring our systems and services 24 hours a day, so we can get to the bottom of problems before they even start impacting on our customers.

You should choose a local company to provide your phone lines, broadband and telephone system because the customer service you receive is likely to be far superior to what you'll get with the 'hands-off' approach of one of the national firms. You'll be putting money into the local economy and not lining the pockets of huge corporations who really don't mind if you choose them or not. As one of our customers recently told us, "After 18 years with BT, I can’t believe we’ve wasted so much time and money with a company who don’t care anymore, we should have switched years ago... We’re now paying 1/3 of what we were paying with BT!".

Give us a call - 2019 could be the year when you really discover what you've been missing!
